What is PLAYWEAR?

PLAYWEAR is a Canadian brand that specializes in creating sustainable clothing and accessories from upcycled materials, including sails. Our mission is to combine style with sustainability, offering one-of-a-kind pieces that make a positive impact on the environment.

What are "upcycled" materials?

Upcycled materials are items that have been transformed and repurposed into something new and valuable. For example, we take retired sails destined for the landfill and give them a second life as sail bags.

How can I donate materials and what happens to them?

If it is a large piece of material, vinyl, canvas, a sail, a boat cover, or a sail bag and you are throwing it out, we will take it. While we can't always make use of every part of every donation we get, our goal is to use as much of each item as we can before it reaches the landfill. Why are your remade products as expensive as new ones?

Are your products one-of-a-kind?

Yes! Each of our products carries its own unique features and markings. While we aim to maintain the overall design, these variations make each item unique.

How do I care for my PLAYWEAR products?

Items without a care label (accessories) can be gently hand-washed or spot-cleaned. Clothing will come with specific instructions, but as a general rule, our items can be machine washed on gentle but should be air-dried. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive washing, as it can affect the longevity of textiles.

Where are you located?

We are located in Chester, Nova Scotia, Canada. Our products are available online, can be picked up in our studio at 139 Chester Commons Road free of charge, or we ship Canada-wide.

Do you offer international shipping?

No. At this time, we only ship to Canadian addresses.

How is shipping calculated and how long does it take?
